Lifting?
The Tactical PT750 can lift a 350 to 400 pound patient unassisted using a full SCBA. For patient loads over 400 pounds up to 550 pounds, the caregivers provide assistance during lifts. Maximum load/unload weight is 500 pounds. Maximum load in the lowest position (all the way down) is 750 pounds.

Lifts per SCBA tank?
Approximately 86 lifts with a 200lb patient which is approximately 30 ambulance calls where the SCBA tank is emptied or approximately 20 ambulance calls where the SCBA tank has about 1000psi remaining.

What powers the Tactical?
The Tactical PT750 uses a 45 minute 4500psi Composite SCBA tank (or, air-pack). The 30 minute composite SCBA tank is commonly used by firefighters in order to breathe while in smoke-filled structures. Many SCBA's will fit the Tactical PT750 but the 45 minute SCBA is used in order to increase the number of calls per SCBA. All other power cots use an electric battery to run an oil powered system that does the actual lifting of the patient. We use air because it's clean, fast, dependable and readily available. No batteries, electrical, oil or hydraulics to maintain and troubleshoot. Again, simple is better.

If the Tactical PT750 runs out of air?
Recall, you get approximately 86 lifts per 45-minute SCBA (about 30 calls). So, use your spare SCBA. You can also manually operate the Tactical but we promote using the air to avoid physical lifting that may cause injury. Treat the SCBA air tank just as any other consumable used aboard the ambulance; oxygen is a good example. Most services require checking the SCBA air level as listed on their ambulance check-sheet.

Cost of Tactical PT750 versus manual operated cot?
Pays your EMS/FD back by avoiding: injury, overtime to cover pains/strains, pain and suffering, preventing re-injury, retaining staff and recruiting experienced staff. These costs are on average, per-ambulance-per-year, in excess of US$120,000. So, the real cost of the Tactical PT750 is only 1/10th the direct amount spent each year for each ambulance in both worker's compensation claims and overtime paid to cover injured EMT's. Indirect costs are estimated to exceed 20-40 times the average direct cost of US$120,000. In short, prevention is far more cost-effective than remediation of an injury.

Raising/Lowering Wheels?
It's fast! The Tactical PT750 will raise the wheels in approximately 1.5 seconds to facilitate a more efficient loading of the patient into the ambulance. The wheels also lower in less than 1.5 seconds to further reduce the time required to hold the patient's weight during unloading.

No Problem to Load/UnLoad Larger Patients?
The Tactical PT750 has a larger handle at the foot-end of the cot to allow 2 people to support the patient during loading and unloading. In addition, a long load/unload assist bar assembly option may be used at the handle-end of the PT750 to allow up to 4 people to assist in loading and unloading a patient. Because the Tactical PT750 raises the wheels for you, all EMT's (up to 4) can help load/unload the patient. No more raising or lowering the wheels manually. Proving again, that a simple design is better. This feature of the Tactical PT750 avoids anyone having to be underneath the cot handling the wheels when loading/unloading the patient. Therefore, up to a total of 4 people can safely help load a patient from the foot-end of the cot without getting in each others way or risk injury to themselves by handling the wheel undercarriage. See, "Get A Quote" for the load assist assemble option.

Cot Mounting into Ambulance?
The PT750 uses a standard floor mounted cot system consisting of a set of antlers and a floor mounted side lock. Very similar to other manufacturers standard floor mounting systems for their cots.
The Tactical PT750 also has an optional specialized cot floor mounting system that is designed to be a "drop-in replacement" for many other cot floor mounting systems. Specifically, the optional PT750 cot floor mounting system consists of a floor mounted plate and a floor mounted side-lock.
The PT750 floor mounting system should simply bolt into the same places that the old floor mounting system occupied on the floor. Only the PT750 mounting system may be used with the PT750 because we test only our mounting system with our cot and no others. It is expressly forbidin for anyone to use the PT750 in any other cot mounting system other than the one specified and provided by Tactical, Inc. due to safety considerations. Doing so will cause failure of the mounting system. For more, click on "Cot Mount" on the menu or "Contact Us."

Storage on the cot?
Storage is provided through optional single or double pocket cordura storage pouches that attach to the underside of the patient surface below where the patient's head is located and the SCBA air tank is located.

Maintenance?
Our design is simple, efficient and very cost-effective to the end-user. Unlike other manufacturers, Tactical, Inc. intentionally designs our cots to be low-maintenance. Because we believe that simple is often better. There is no maintenance beyond ensuring that the slides are clean and free of debris.
All fasteners should be periodically checked and please contact us when you have any question. We're more than happy to help.
It's a fact that complex designs lead to high maintenance costs that unnecessarily siphon-off funds better spent elsewhere in your organization. We promote EMS and Fire and what they do. So we never want to do something that will diminish your fixed funding base. That's why our designs are simple and efficient. Not complicated and high-maintenance. Should a repair be necessary after the 2-year parts warranty and you cannot find the part off-the-shelf, we have a very reasonable price structure for replacement parts. We always keep a sufficient parts inventory on-hand for next day delivery. Indeed, we offer maintenance assistance, custom maintenance programs, and in-house training of your designated maintenance personnel. And of course, we're available by phone for any questions or help you may need. Tactical, Simple! Fast! Efficient!
